LGIS in the Community

Students at LGIS have several opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom by participating in a wide range of Creative, Active and community Service activities (CAS). Through involvement with groups such as Habitat for Humanity, JAAGO, CRP Swimming, School of Hope, MUN and the Ashic Foundation, students broaden their understanding of humanitarian issues in the local, national and international communities. The programme provides a rich learning experience that promotes responsible citizenship and personal growth.

The Great Kindness Challenge campaign : to spread the knowledge of kindness amongst the school kids.
To spread kindness, the volunteers of VBD Chittagong & Dhaka District visited our school on 3rd October 2016. They described the students about GKC and the importance of kindness.

Then the students were asked to make ‘Thank You’ Cards and give the cards to those people who they thought works relentlessly.

The students enjoyed the task very much and after making the cards, they gave it to their Teachers and Office staff of their school saying thank you. Heartiest thanks to the volunteers.

The 2014 ICC World Twenty20 was the fifth ICC World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament, that took place in Bangladesh[2] from 16 March to 6 April 2014. It was played in eight cities — Dhaka, Chittagong, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Cox’s Bazar, Narayanganj and Sylhet. The International Cricket Council announced Bangladesh as host in 2010.[5] It was the second consecutive time that an Asian country is hosting this event, as Sri Lanka[6] hosted the previous tournament in 2012. Sri Lanka won the tournament, beating India by 6 wickets in the final at Mirpur.

Universal Children’s Day (UCD) is an initiative through which students of many schools, including LGIS, partake in raising funds for street children, by selling flowers on the roads of Dhaka. The children are treated to a day of fun which is conducted through volunteering by the students as well. LGIS has an ongoing affiliation with JAAGO and their remarkable work.

Weekend School/Saturday School
